- the majority of employers believe their employee benefits provide value for money – but 28% don’t use any measures to monitor the effectiveness of their benefits package
- although only 22% of employers currently offer pre-retirement guidance or courses, 56% plan to do more to help employees aged 55+ with their choices under the pension freedoms
- when it comes to health and protection benefits, life insurance was the most commonly-offered type of cover – provided by 69% of employers, compared with just 19% who also offer critical illness cover
- 86% of employers offer some kind of voluntary benefits – such as childcare vouchers, bikes to work and discount schemes
- only 16% currently offer a full flexible benefits scheme, but 35% use platform technology to manage employee benefits
